City-Life

A fine art short film shot as part of secondary school Art exam (2015). The filming was shot over the course of two days in downtown London, while the editing took place in ten hours of controlled exam time. The film embraces the theme of "Time" and explores the mediums of time and space through overlay and long-exposure. The film aims to show how humans interact with their urban environment and how the mind chooses to suppress stimuli. By using out of focus shots the scenes are broken down into their basic shape. In contrast, the overlaid time-lapse footage illustrates the speed of urban life and its intensity, which is highlighted by the juxtapositioning with the out-of-focus images.
